The Pins Have
Returned

June 2026  ·  Kanzashi Collection

Some things are worth waiting for. The Phoenix Hairpin — the one that sold out before we had time to restock — is back. And this time, it's not alone.

Today, JOFAE's kanzashi collection is live again on the official store. We've brought back pieces that have been quietly requested in our DMs and comment sections for months, alongside new additions that carry the same quiet attention to craft that defines everything we make: wood pins with a warmth you can feel, brocade ornaments that catch light like they were made for it, and details drawn from a Kyoto that still exists if you know where to look.

Every piece in this collection sits at the intersection of Eastern brocade tradition and daily wearable life. The fabrics are drawn from Nishijin-ori weaving, Song brocade, Yun brocade, and more — traditions that have dressed courts, temples, and ceremonies for centuries. The forms, though, are made to wear today: to a morning at a temple market, a dinner in Gion, a quiet afternoon wherever you happen to be.

Making something by hand means making it once. There is no bulk run, no warehouse. When a piece is gone, it is gone — and that is not a sales tactic. It is simply the nature of brocade work.

This is a limited restocking. The Phoenix is back, yes — but we cannot promise for how long. The wood pins are here in small numbers, made to be held and worn, not to sit on a shelf. The new arrivals carry the same philosophy: Kyoto aesthetics, Eastern craft heritage, made for real use.

What's In This Drop

凤凰发簪 · Phoenix Hairpin — The one that's been out of stock. Finally back, and still as limited as before.

木簪 · Wood Pins — New to the collection. Natural material, quiet character, made to age beautifully.

Brocade Kanzashi — New pieces featuring Kyoto-influenced Eastern textile work: layered colour, careful construction, wearable ceremony.

We take our work to the temple markets — Toji on the 21st, Kitano Tenmangu on the 25th — and what we bring to those markets is the same standard we hold online. If you've ever picked up a piece from one of our stalls, you know what we mean. If you haven't yet, this is the same thing, just delivered to your door.

No countdowns, no manufactured urgency. Just: if you've been thinking about it, now is probably the time.
